We went to a friend's house warming/Halloween party, then met up with my brother and his wife.  It was a really fun night and very humorous to people watch of course!! :)

On Halloween, Carter and Laura took me out on their new boat wakeboarding!  We went to Taylor Lake in Clear Lake.  It was really fun and they have such a nice boat.  We wakeboarded, drove around the lake for a while, and just enjoyed being out on the water.  Then we had dinner at Cheddar's on the way home....my favorite!!!!  It was a great weekend!

Middle School Fall Retreat...Woowoo!!!

A few weeks ago I asked you all to pray for the upcoming Middle School Fall Retreat that Jerrod and I were leaders on!  Well.... we survived!!!  Actually, it was fun, amazing, incredible, tiring, hilarious, etc.  We had such an amazing time getting to know the students.  I had a small group of 6th grade girls and Jerrod had a small group of 6th grade boys :)  We had over 100 kids there!  Jerrod and I both had kids in our small groups get SAVED!!!!  Hallelujah!!!  It was such a sweet time to share that with them and walk them through it.  Their names are Sammy and Austen if you would like to pray for their new walks in Christ.  Here are some pictures from the weekend in Livingston, TX at Lake Tomahawk Camp.

Beautiful campgrounds!!!

3 of my girls, Gigi, Olivia and Faith :)

I took some kids on a hike around the lake so this was our pit stop.

In the chapel before worship!

My small group, plus Divine in the front :)  He loves the ladies....lol

This is Austen, he was Jerrod's shadow for the weekend.  Love this kid!

Jerrod playing minute to win it in the leader game!  Yes, those are panty hose on his arms :)

And this is me in the blue.  I had to stick my nose in a bowl of vaseline and transport cotton balls from one bowl to the other, only using my nose! haha

Lovely!  I had vaseline EVERYWHERE!

Another game, trying to fish something out of the fish bowl with a gummy worm (that I sucked on) as my bait.

Thanks for your prayers!  We love working with these students and God is really working in their lives!  Keep praying for them :)

Our 1 Year Anniversary!!! :)

Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year!  We got married on October 3, 2009 and celebrated our anniversary last weekend in Fredericksburg, TX.  It was a nice relaxing weekend to just enjoy each other.  We both took off on Monday so we had a little bit more time to spend there.  We rented a log cabin out in the country for the weekend.  Here is a picture of it...
It was so nice and had some amazing views....way better than in Houston :)  We both miss being in the country.  Our first day we went to two wineries and did wine tastings and a tour.  We both learned so much about wine and really enjoyed learning how they make the wine.  Here's a picture from Grape Creek Vinyard!
After the wineries we went and had lunch on Main Street, then went shopping!  There are so many cute shops, I was in heaven and Jerrod was a great sport all day! :)  It was also Oktoberfest that weekend so it was PACKED!  But we made our way through the crowds.  The next day we woke up (our actual anniversary day) and Jerrod and I exchanged gifts.  One of my gifts from Jerrod was a "Year Book", like the ones you get in high school except it was pictures of all of the people in our lives over the past year, and different pictures for things like "Prom Queen", "Carpenter Athletics", "Most likely's", etc.  Then he had all of our friends sign it and write notes in it to me like you do in high school.  It was so thoughtful, he is so creative!!!  It made me feel so special!  Then we watched our wedding video which was fun because we hadn't done that all the way through yet!  Little did we know that Jerrod's mom and Memom (grandma) danced down the isle on their way out of the ceremony, LOL...there were several humorous events in that video that we had never seen or heard about :)  Afterwards we grabbed some lunch on Main Street and went to the WWII re-enactment!  Yes, you heard right! LOL  Jerrod LOVES history (hence why he teaches it) an he insisted that we go.  Jerrod loved it to say the least...and I made it through it :)   Here is a picture from the re-enactment!
After that we went to Enchanted Rock for a hike to the top!  My parents said they took me when I was about 3 or 4 but I have no recollection of that (sorry mom).  So it was all new to me.  I really enjoyed it!  Hiking is something that we really enjoy doing together and try to do it whenever we can on vacations!  Here is a picture at the top of Enchanted Rock...
Afterwards we went back to the cabin to take a nap, and get ready for our last night in Fbg.  We went to dinner at a cute little place on Main Street that had some live music, and the weather was awesome all weekend so we were able to enjoy dinner outside (that doesn't happen in Houston) :)  Here is us at dinner....
After dinner we went to the cabin and got out the top tier of our wedding cake.  My parents did a fabulous job of storing it in their freezer for a year (thanks mom and dad!).  So, we had to eat it!!!  Jerrod wasn't very excited about it but it was actually pretty good!  Way better than we expected :)  Here is us about to cut the cake!
It was a great anniversary weekend!  It was so nice to get away from the busyness of Houston and relax out in the country.  We feel so blessed that the Lord has brought us together and can't wait for 60+ more years together!  I love you Jerrod!!!!

Instead of spending a bunch of money on a nice dinner in Fbg we decided to save the money and go to a nice restaurant in Houston when we got back.  Tonight we went to the Melting Pot and it was amazing!  Here is a picture from dinner there....
Thanks for your love and support throughout the last year.  It's been the best year of our lives and we are so thankful for each other!!!

Blessings!

Labor Day Weekend!

We had a great Labor Day Weekend this year!  Last Labor Day was my bachelorette party in Austin...I can't believe that was a year ago!  But this year we spent it with our families.  We drove to Utopia Friday night and hung out with Jerrod's dad, cousins (Gary and Kari), and their 2 month old baby boy Walker.  Saturday morning we drove to Medina Lake which is about 40 minutes from Utopia, to meet my family.  Daniel, Cooper, and Clifton were there, then Mom, Dad, Layton and Amy came a little later.  It was so much fun!  We played with our nephews Cooper and Layton a ton, wakeboarded, ate great food, and talked outside for a while.  My parents had their RV up there for the month so it was nice to have a camping ground :)  Jerrod did great wakeboarding....this was his second time ever to go and he got up after about 5 tries so that was great!  The rest of the weekend we spent in Utopia with Jerrod's dad.  We hiked, played with the dogs in the lake, watched movies, watched the sunset in the awesome hill country weather, slept in, and relaxed.  It was much needed! :)  The only bad part of the whole weekend was that it took almost 6 hours to get home, which usually takes 4.5 hours.  Good ole Houston traffic....ugh!  Anyway, it was great and I hope you all had a fabulous Labor Day Weekend as well!  Here are a few pics from the weekend.

The view from my parent's RV on Medina Lake.

About to put the boat on the water!  That's my parents RV in the background :)
