Bridal Shower for Jessica

Last weekend my best friend Jessica Hill flew in town (Pleasanton) for two bridal showers!  Her wedding is December 11th and quickly approaching!!  Anyway, Friday night my sister, Jodie, Holly and I hosted a bridal shower for her at Holly & Bruce's house :)  It was so much fun and I have not laughed that hard in years, seriously years.  We reminisced from growing up together and laughed till about 1am!  It was so much fun!  Here are some pictures from that night.

All the yummy food!  My sis did most of the cooking :)

All the girls minus me :)

BFF since we were 3 :)

Love you Jess!  Can't wait for the wedding!!!

The next day on Saturday Jessica had another bridal shower with all of her mom's friends and most of her family.  It was at Karen Richter's house and it was a lot of fun!  Here are some pictures from that shower!

After the shower I came back to Houston because I had to work on Sunday.  That night was also the A&M vs. Nebraska game so I watched it with Jerrod and some friends in Rice Village in Houston.

Rock N Roll Marathon!

Two weeks ago I ran the San Antonio Rock N Roll Half Marathon.  This was my first half, because in previous years I've done the full.  Needless to say the half was much more enjoyable!!!!  Training was less time consuming, and slacking off didn't effect me as much :)  I finished the 13.1 miles in 1:58 so I was really excited because my goal was to be finished under 2 hours.  My sister ran and several of my other friends.  We had fun celebrating after the race with some Mexican food at Casa Rio on the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio.  Next race....the Houston Half Marathon on January 30th.  Let the training continue....

Sis and I at the expo the day before the race!

An advertisement for a hell run, no thanks.

About 4:30am before the race! :)  Ready ready ready ready, ready to ruuuunn.....

My sister-in-law Seresa and her friend Lauren, at the start line!

Watching all the runners finish.

Melissa, good friend from A&M and we both live in Houston :)

Sister's friend Kelli, me, Amy and our cousin's wife Kelli Hindes.

Hanging out with Layton after the race.

Layton giving mommy some hugs :)
If you've never done a half or full marathon, I encourage you to do one.  They are so much fun but can be quite addicting :)

Sis comes to visit!!!!

That's right, Amy and Layton made the trip to Houston to visit us a few weeks ago!  I had off of work on Thursday and Friday so Amy came up Wednesday night till Saturday!  It was so much fun and we had a weekend FULL of events.  Their first full day Amy and I decided to go shopping, for ourselves and for Christmas gifts.  By the way, I'm about 90% done with Christmas shopping :)  I'm pretty sure we wore Mr. Layton out!  He was exhausted by the end of the day but was such a good shopper.  Amy has trained him well!  Thursday night we went to the Grand Luxe for dinner with Carter, Laura, Jerrod, myself, Amy and Layton.  We taught Layton how to say Luxe so he kept repeating it all night :)  So cute!  Friday morning we got things ready for the wine party I had mentioned in the previous post.  Then Amy and I went to the galleria to get our makeup done for the evening :)  We also took Layton on the train that goes around Hermann Park.  He loved it.  He actually cried when we had to get off.  He kept saying "choo choo, choo choo", and "I ride choo choo" LOL.  Friday night was the wine party and we stayed up till 4am talking and having some wine.  I haven't done that since college!  Saturday morning they packed up, and we took Layton to the park before the drive home.  I cried when I had to tell them bye.  All I kept thinking about was missing a year of their lives (all of our families lives really) while we are in Africa.  It's so hard to think about but we both know it's where God is calling us. :(  As for now we can just ENJOY these next 7 months with our families.  Here are lots of pictures from the awesome weekend!!!

Bubble time! (that's what he calls it :)  He LOVES bubble time!

I hosted a wine tasting party a few weeks ago with my friends.  Lets just say I'm very behind on my blogging.  I need to catch up before it gets too bad!  Anyway, my sister had a wine party a few months ago and I loved the idea so she came in to town and helped me throw one!  It was a success.  I would NOT have been able to do it without my amazing sister.  She brought tons of stuff that we used, and we had great food too!  We had 14 different wines to taste, and everyone got to take their favorite one home.  After the party my 2 sister in laws, my sister, and myself all stayed up till 4am talking and laughing.  They all spent the night and we had so much fun together!   Here are a few pictures of the party.

Here is my sister-in-law hanging with Layton before the party started.

Amy brought that cute VINO sign from her party.

The spread :)

My awesome sis!  I couldn't have done it without you Amy!

All the wines to taste.

Layton joined the party till about 10, then he crashed :)
